PRAYER FOR DAY 7-9

PRAYER FOR OURSELVES AND THE CHURCH
Father, I pray for myself and GFA in General
Through out this year and beyond may we do no wrong; but give us grace to do that you may do what is right in your sight always 2 Cor. 13:7

This year Lord, bring us into maturity. Make us perfect (2 Cor. 13:9)

Cause us to be filled with the knowledge of Your will so that we may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, and to please You in all ways -- Col. 1:9-10

Father cause us to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all men so that our hearts unblamable in holiness before you our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus -- 1 Thes. 3:12-13

PRAYER FOR THE NATION
Pray for peace in this nation

Pray for wisdom for our leaders

Pray that God's will would be done in this land

PRAYER FOR OUR MISSION AND COMMISSION

PRAYERS
Father I pray for our Evangelism materials and strategy
Cause them to make the necessary and desired impact

Let your anointing  be upon all our materials and strategies for evangelism

Let everything we use in your work and worship function properly without any hitch

Let everybody handling anything do it with the joy, fear and wisdom of God

THE VOICE OF LOVE

TEXT: John 13:34-35
34  A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35  By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

In our text this morning Jesus commands us to live in love. This is not a suggestion but a command. It therefore behoves us to take this command very seriously. Now we notice that He calls it "A new commandment". How new is it? Jesus Himself already acknowledges that the greatest of the Old Testament law that had been in operation for more than 2000 years then was the commandment to "Love thy neighbour as thyself" ( Mar 12:31, Lev 1918 )

The new commandment of Jesus is new because it is different in quality. Paul, in Galatians 6:2 calls it the law of Christ. The Old Testament laws demand that we love our neighbour AS OURSELVES. Now this law allows for the principle of retribution (an eye for an eye). But the commandment of Jesus is that we should love 'AS I HAVE LOVED YOU". Thus the quality of our love should be the type of love that Jesus has for us. We are to love our brethren as Jesus love us. How does Jesus Love us?

The quality of Jesus' is that he love us to the extent of giving up himself us to die for us. This is unique. It does not allow for retribution. In fact it is the justification for our turning the other cheek when struck in one. "We are to resist not evil" (Matt 5:39). We are tho

Now Jesus says this is how men will know that we are His disciples. That means that it is our mark of identification before men. A true mark of identification  must be unique and distinguish from all others. Love is unique to the Disciples of Jesus. No one else is capable of the Jesus type of love but His disciples.  This is how we know what love is. Christ gave his own life and he died for us. This shows us how we should really love other people. We ought to give our lives for other Christians (1 John 3:16 EasyEnglish Bible Version)

The scriptures shows us how to fulfil this law of Christ. Gal 6:2 says Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. What this means is that you should make up for the weakness of others and not emphasise it. If a brother has a problem with pride, you are not to tempt his pride by flattery or get irritated when he displays it. Rather we are to spend ourselves in intercession for him and counseling him in love when we have the opportunity

The second way of fulfilling the law of Jesus is as shown in 1John 3:17 -18"But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." Sharing our resources with those that don't have is our manifestation of the Love of God.

Now Jesus says it is our mark of identification with Him. A mark of identification is unique. Thus this love is the one feature that is unique with the disciples of Jesus. It cannot be counterfeited or feigned by others. This is because the Holy Spirit is the source and He gives it to all the disciples of Christ and them alone. The bible says " because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us" (Rom 5:5). Beloved we have the capacity to love the way Jesus did. Let us engage this unique power within us and become like God. This is how to manifest the Divine Nature (1John 4:16-17)

PRAYERS
Father thank you for giving me the unique ability to love as You do

Father I believe that your Spirit has shed the Love of Christ abroad in our heart

I receive grace to love as God does in Jesus Name

Father let your Spirit help your church to manifest this love of Christ

Father help us to shed the light of Christ around the Nations of the world

THE VOICE OF PRAYER

THE VOICE OF PRAYERS
In the past few lessons we have been talking about the Voice of the Lord. We have seen how powerful the voice of God is. You too can speak with the voice of God. God has sent His word to us. We are to unleash the power in the word by voicing it. Prayer is the Word of God on the lips of faith. The word of God that has entered into your spirit and transform your soul will have the same effect in your mouth as it has in the mouth of God. If you speak the word of God from a heart of faith in prayers, you will have the same result like God has when He speaks.

Prayer changes thing. In our text today, An evil trend was going on. It was not the best time for the church. The devil had incited the society and their leader against the Church and they started a campaign of assassinating the leaders of the church. They succeeded with James. and their blood lust increased hence they went further to take Peter. You see the devil will not stop at one evil. If nothing is done to stop him he will continue to wreck havoc. They were planning to execute Peter. But there was an intervening factor this time. The Church prayed and God intervened.

Jabez too had a very rough time. the trend continued. even though he was a heir of Abraham but the pronouncement of his mother was prevailing over the blessing of his progenitors. and He was not finding it funny. But one day, Jabez rose up and put an end to his misery. He remembered the covenant of God with Abraham. He remembered that he was a heir of Abraham and  he cried to the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. He demanded what he wanted and God heard him

This is where many of us have been getting things all wrong. We expect things to change by themselves. We complain and gripe when we don't see that and ask where is God. Why did God not intervene. But the truth is that God was actually looking out for you to do something about the situation. He has sent His word--His most potent weapon of creation and sustenance--to you (Heb 1:1-2).  It is now left for you to wield it by voicing it. When the church prayed,there was an angelic intervention because prayer is the voicing of the word of God and angels are programmed to obey the voice of His Word.

Jabez was a heir of Abraham but his condition did not respect that fact. it was when Jabez stood on the covenant to pray that he got result. stand on the word of God and change your life for good. You can put an end to any evil trend in your life. start voicing the word of God today in prayers and you shall see the desired results

Father prepare me for the voice of the Lord

Father open my ears to the voice of the Lord

Let the spirit if faith arise within me as I hear the Word of the Lord

Let the voice of the Lord uproot every mountain opposing the manifestation of your grace and glory in my life

Father thunder against the enemies of my glorify

Father let the hearts of our neighbours and contacts be open and receptive to the word of God and that they will receive it with joy

Father preserve this nation from every evil foretold

Every embargo of the enemy against my my doing exploits (spiritual, ministerial, professional, family, finance, etc ) be destroyed now in Jesus Name

Every mountain that Stands against my doing exploits this year, I unleash the Spirit of grace against you. Be uprooted now in Jesus Name

Father in my life let your word mightily grouw and prevail in the name of Jesus

I prophesy progress into every aspect of my life in Jesus name

INTERCESSION FOR THE NATION AGAINST EVIL OCCURENCE.
Job 22:29-30

Father we pray today against riots and war in our countries. Lord stand against them and avert hem in the name of Jesus 

Deliver us oh Lord from the aggression of destroyers in the Name of Jesus

Lord we pray for peaceful weather all over the world. In Jesus Name

Lord whatever might be the plans of the enemy to cause disaster this year, by your mighty hand avert them in the name of Jesus
